31DC2017 Supernatural – Ghost Nails

I’m starting my Halloween designs early with these ghost nails for the supernatural prompt! They’re not scary at all, but kind of cute, and the best part is that they were super quick to do. Once the black base had dried, I painted on blobs of white with the brush, then dotted in the eyes and mouth.

31DC2016 Inspired by the Supernatural – Flying Unicorn

The challenge is almost over, only two more days left! I’m so proud that this will finally be the first 31 Day Challenge I actually complete during September! Anyway, for today’s supernatural prompt, I’ve done a winged unicorn.  Continue reading

31DC2015 Inspired by the Supernatural – Fairies

I think this design turned out just okay – I don’t hate it, but I don’t think it looks that great either. I do love the accent glitter, Sinful Colors Star Studded. The stars are a bit tricky to get on the brush but look great with the silver and gold glitter. I didn’t apply a color base underneath, but I’d recommend a silvery-gold polish so the swatch better matches the bottle. I used acrylic paint on the flowers and fairies, but went over the petals with Sinful Colors Triple Platinum. If I had to redo this nail art, I think I would change the background colors to something more neutral and/or also make the flowers silhouettes.

31DC2014 Supernatural: Will-o’-the-Wisps

I recently saw Brave, and it gave me the idea to do the Will-o’-the-wisps from the movie for “supernatural” day. I always get stuck on this one and end up thinking about Halloween-themed manis. I think these characters are so cute and mysterious, and they make a great nail art design. To start off, I applied two coats of L’Oreal Raven’s Strength, a black with subtle shimmer. I then filled in a rough outline of the Wisps with Sinful Colors Most Sinful, a deep blue. I drew a more obvious outline with KISS Nail Art Light Blue on top of that as a guide. I filled in the outlines with messy strokes of the light and deep blues plus also added Brucci Kathy’s Baby Blues and Piggy Polish Blue-ming Romance. To finish them, I dotted the eyes in white.

31 Day Challenge 2013: Inspired by the Supernatural

Fairies! I tried to draw them as best I could, but I don’t know if you’d be able to tell they’re fairies without knowing. The pink is Sinful Colors Starfish. For the gold, I used Funky Fingers Golden Grace with Maybelline Color Show Gold’s Night Out on top – both beautiful gold glitters.

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by the Supernatural

When I started this one I wasn’t planning on just using black and white, and had several colors selected. But I wasn’t happy with my original design at all, so I decided to do something much simpler.
