I love how these Betty Boop nails turned out! I was inspired to do them after I saw a few episodes the other day. It had been such a long time since I’d seen it so I couldn’t remember much of the other characters. Drawing Betty Boop was a little difficult, especially since I had to file my nail to an awkward length after a break, but I managed it pretty well. I used Revlon Ravishing for the red and Ciaté Cream Soda for the gray. For the rest of the design and details, I used a combination of nail art liners and pens.
I’m so late with this post, but here it is! This design was for the icicles prompt! I love how the twigs turned out, since I was worried they wouldn’t be thin enough, but I was very careful with the brush. I haven’t used any top coat on these nails since I wanted to keep the background matte versus the shiny silver of the ice. The gray is Icing Matte Gargoyle and for the silver I used Hurricane Nail Art Silver.
I wasn’t sure where I was going with this design when I started it. I’d already done several geometric designs earlier in the challenge, so I wanted to do something different, but that still followed the prompt. I’m happy with the end result, though it’s not a favorite of mine. I do like the color combination, especially the accents of blue in the glitter and studs. The overall look makes me think of technology or something futuristic.

This is one of those designs that looks perfect in your head, but not so much on the nails. I wanted to do something floral that was quick and required few colors. I used Icing Gargoyle for the base and Ciate cream soda for the flowers. I think a third color would have given the flowers more definition. The glitter is Milani Sugar High, which I think is relatively new as I’ve never seen it before. I also bought Milani Sugar Rush, and I love them both. I think my accent nail could have used more glitter. I would recommend using a sponge when applying the glitter – it’s pretty dense, but it still took some time to fill the whole nail, and as you can see, I lost some patience along the way.
This one started out as just an ombre design, but then I added the floral print and stripes. The gray on the ring finger isn’t as blue as it shows up on camera.

I haven’t had access to the internet these past few days so I couldn’t upload this sooner. For the design, I just kind of played around until I was happy with it. I really like the silver cosmetic arts nail polish. I have a similar one (wet n wild’s Silvivor) but this one is more opaque.
