New Year 2017 Blue Marble Nails

newyear2017nails2

For this New Year’s I wanted something bright and different from the dark color scheme I usually do, so I went for blue and white. I think drag marbling is such a great alternative to water marbling because you get a similar effect in less time and without the trouble. This design reminds me of water and feels refreshing for welcoming the new year.

I began by applying two coats of Sparitual Full of Life though you can’t actually see it anymore since it’s under the dry marble. For the marbling, I dabbed the nails a couple times with each color: Ciaté Snow Virgin, Orly Teal Unreal, and Sparitual Blue Lagoon. The glitters I used on the accent nail are Cover Girl Disco Dazzle and OPI Lights of Emerald City. To draw the numbers I used Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pens in White and Blue.

31DC2016 Honor Nails U Love – Dry Marble

I’d say it’s the last day of the challenge, but I’m a couple days late.  Actually, all this time I thought the challenge took place completely in September,  since I never finished it in time, but it officially ends October 1st, so go figure. But anyway, onto the final design!

I’m a big fan of esNAIL and for a while now I’ve been wanting to reproduce this beautiful dry marble nail art. As you can probably tell, mine is slightly different: I used a white background instead of a sheer one, square and round studs instead of triangular ones, and my dry marble is more chaotic looking. I tried to copy the original style as much as possible, but I need more practice.

Either tomorrow or the next day I’ll post the summary. I had a lot of fun with the challenge this year! It was hectic at times getting all the designs and posts in, and I had to do some of them in groups, but I’m glad I was able to do it. And now that I don’t have to worry about the challenge, I can focus on Halloween nail art!

This is the final design in my series of summer nail art. I had planned to post a different set of nails using a nautical stamping plate, but I wasn’t happy with the result. Continue reading

St. Patrick’s Day 2014: Clovers and Dry Marble Nail Art

stpatricksdaynails

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I wasn’t sure what to do, so I did a variety of designs. For the french tip dry marble, I started with Kleancolor Bikini Green, then marbled with Revlon Jaded and Finger Paints Scenery Greenery. I used those same two polishes for the clovers. The pinky accent glitter nail is Sinful Colors Call You Later on top of one coat of the Kleancolor.

By the way, if anyone wants to follow me on Pinterest, I just opened up an account!

esNAIL Inspired: Colorful Marble

This design is also inspired by one from esNAIL: this one. When I saw it, I immediately loved the combination of bright colors with the accent marble nail. The colors I chose aren’t as bright, and the marble nail is different, but I really like how it turned out.
