My fifth year of the challenge has come and gone! I tried to do my best to better the nail art from previous years and I have a lot more favorites this time around. All images link to the original posts.
I’d say it’s the last day of the challenge, but I’m a couple days late. Actually, all this time I thought the challenge took place completely in September, since I never finished it in time, but it officially ends October 1st, so go figure. But anyway, onto the final design!
I’m a big fan of esNAIL and for a while now I’ve been wanting to reproduce this beautiful dry marble nail art. As you can probably tell, mine is slightly different: I used a white background instead of a sheer one, square and round studs instead of triangular ones, and my dry marble is more chaotic looking. I tried to copy the original style as much as possible, but I need more practice.

Either tomorrow or the next day I’ll post the summary. I had a lot of fun with the challenge this year! It was hectic at times getting all the designs and posts in, and I had to do some of them in groups, but I’m glad I was able to do it. And now that I don’t have to worry about the challenge, I can focus on Halloween nail art!
I was inspired to do this design after watching HannahRoxNails’ Herringbone Print tutorial on YouTube. Her nail art designs are amazing, many of them super intricate, and always with clean lines. Since I only wanted the Herringbone print on two of the nails, I did the other two in a simpler style, dragging the wiped polish brushes across the nail for a fade effect.

The challenge is almost over, only two more days left! I’m so proud that this will finally be the first 31 Day Challenge I actually complete during September! Anyway, for today’s supernatural prompt, I’ve done a winged unicorn. Continue reading
Flag inspired is my least favorite day of the challenge because it always takes me forever to come up with something. Thankfully this year I decided on the USA flag pretty quickly. Not only are the elections next month, but I didn’t do my usual 4th of July nails this year, so this was a good opportunity to get them in.
I wanted to do something different than the usual though so I went looking through my nail art stash for ideas. That’s when I found my only two flocking powders I own (by My Beauty Spot) in red and blue — perfect for the flag! To stick the powder on I painted sections of the nails with Sinful Colors Endless Blue and Sinful Colors Hot & Sour. Since I don’t have white flocking powder, I just used a liner for the stars and stripes.

For today’s art prompt, I based my nail art off an amazing abstract painting by Helen Frankenthaler called Faerie Tale. Continue reading
For the fashion prompt I did a design based on Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear Collection. Continue reading
When I was little, I would watch Sailor Moon every afternoon after school, and years later I finally read the manga and loved it. It’s still one of my favorite anime/manga, so when I saw a Born Pretty Sailor Moon stamping plate, I had to have it! Continue reading
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is one of my favorite movies! I was surprised I hadn’t done any nail art about it before, so I knew I had to feature it in this year’s 31 Day Challenge. Continue reading
