Summer Nail Art – Marble Nautical + 31DC2016

marblenauticalnails

This is the final design in my series of summer nail art. I had planned to post a different set of nails using a nautical stamping plate, but I wasn’t happy with the result. So instead I decided to go for a simple half moon with a freehanded anchor as accent. Underneath the anchor is my attempt at dry marbling which was not as easy, but I managed to fix it pretty well. I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, let it dry, then added a second coat. Before the second dried, I added a few blobs of Sinful Colors Endless Blue and used a thin brush to mix the colors. After drawing the anchor, I added Art Club Nail Art Fine Gold glitter so it would match the half moons on the rest of the nails.

Now that it’s almost September, I’ve started planning the designs I’ll be doing for this year’s 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. I can’t believe this will be my 5th year doing the challenge! As usual, I’ll try to get it done daily, but — also as usual — it will probably take me a few months! Below are the prompts from Chalkboard Nails‘ website:
